Switching SIMs? Here is how to keep your number in minutes
If you have found a better deal, you do not need to lose your number. In the UK it is simple and free. Text PAC to 65075 to get your transfer code, then give it to us at checkout. Your number normally moves over on the next working day.
What is a PAC code?
A PAC (Porting Authorisation Code) lets you move your current mobile number from one network to another. It is usually nine characters and is valid for 30 days.
Before you request your PAC
- Check if you are still in contract with your current provider. If you are, they may add an early‑termination charge.
- Make sure your device is ready. Most recent UK phones are sold unlocked, but older devices might need a quick check in settings.
- Back up contacts and messages if you plan to swap handsets at the same time.
How to get and use your PAC
- Text PAC to 65075. Your current network will reply with your code and any account info, such as remaining credit or fees if you are still in contract.
- Choose your plan and give us the PAC during checkout or via your order confirmation.
- Keep your old SIM active until the switch completes. Your number will move to your new SIM, usually on the next working day, or on a date you choose.
What to expect on the day
- There may be a short pause in service. It usually lasts minutes.
- Restart your phone after you see signal on the new SIM.
- If calls or data look odd, toggle Airplane mode or do a quick reboot.
Costs and contracts
- Getting a PAC is free.
- If you are out of contract, there are no exit fees.
- If you are still in contract, your old provider may charge an early‑termination fee. Our rolling monthly plans mean you will not be locked in again.
FAQs
How long does it take?Usually the next working day if you send your PAC before early afternoon. Otherwise the following day.
Can I pick a date? Yes, we can schedule the port for a future working day.
Will I lose service? There is often a brief window with limited service. Keep both SIMs handy until it completes.
Does Wi‑Fi calling keep working? Yes. Once your number is on the new SIM, make sure Wi‑Fi Calling is enabled in your phone settings.
What if my PAC expires? Text PAC to 65075 again to get a new one. It is free.
New to the UK or no credit history? No problem. Our plans do not require a credit check.
